Daily Garden: Purple and Blue Prairie

side garden with arch daily garden prairie

Image from Gardening Gone Wild.

1) Big Patches of plants.

2) A cohesive color scheme (blues and purple are so calming and moody)

3) Splashes of Yellow – repeated – takes it all up a notch.

These are the lessons and inspirations I take from this garden.  What are yours?

I love the verbena in this photo….such a cool color / texture, but without a doubt the pennisetum is the show stopper.

This is a late summer garden so the trick is to make sure you have something blooming in the spring and early summer. I think it’s beautiful!

It is the middle of winter, and I’m not taking a very nuanced view of gardens at the moment, so my take away is: MORNING GLORIES!!! YES.
