The Retractable Garden Fence
Goats — I have been party to much discussion of these animals around my town as well as with a friend. You may remember a post I made last fall about “Rent a Ruminant” – an increasingly popular vegetation control service that involves traveling bands of goats.
At this time of year, field mowing is an expensive necessity for many people with land. Here at my own home, I have to deal with the over abundance of poison ivy if I let things get too out of control.
Considering a new business opportunity in the age recession, a friend is thinking about raising goats, for cheese, but perhaps for other reasons too: Like land clearing. The problem that immediately arises though is how to quickly contain the goats for short periods of time while they clear an area and then easily move them on.
So this post is for Emily….maybe something like the Guarden might be a solution? And if not looking to contain ruminants, I think it certainly holds promise over the not so attractive and hard to work with chicken wire alternative for protecting a veggie patch.

kelly — I think it is conceptual at this stage….but if I hear that it has gone into production (and hopefully it will ) I will make a post update.

Has the Guarden retractable fence gone into production? If not, does anyone know of a similar product for purchase?
