Landscape Book for Nie
New to the blogging world, I didn’t enter without doing my homework. I have for the last couple years read and been inspired by many other bloggers and been fascinated with the online community that grows from them. One of those inspirations was Nie Nie. As you may or may not have heard, Nie Nie, was struck by a tragic accident. I don’t know this woman or her husband, never communicated with her, but I can relate to her life as a mother, a blogger, and a spirited person. Her name is Stephanie Nielson and about one month ago she and her husband Christian Nielson were in a plane crash. The pilot died and they, the parents of four children, remain in a burn unit while their friends and family pitch in to take care of their family. Their medical bills are already in the millions. I know that many of you readers of this ‘Studio g’ blog are not avid readers of other blogs…so you may not have seen much about the tremendous support that has flowed from the online community. Please google or click on one of the links in this posting to learn more. Nie’s sister is keeping her blog alive and you can learn more about the whole story at http://www.nierecovery.com.
In the spirit of helping out and in some small part, making the world a better place, I am auctioning a book that I helped to create a few years ago. I hope you will find it in your heart to bid, or if you don’t want the book go to www.nierecovery.com to donate in your own way.
So here is our auction. To bid, post a comment with your offer. We will keep this open for a week — Ending On Saturday September 27th. Good Luck!

Amazon.com describes the book:
Alexander, the charismatic founder of the English Gardening School, and coauthor Sneesby have compiled a highly detailed resource guide aimed at providing valuable assistance in envisioning a garden plan from scratch. Important aspects of making a garden are covered, from walls and walkways to stairways, gateways, and such architectural elements as gazebos and arbors. Each topic is presented with an array of design possibilities illustrated and explained. Offered along with traditional ideas for paths using stone and brick are inventive solutions like a rammed-earth paving pattern. Each chapter features a clearly written section on practicalities to help demystify technical considerations, with instructions included for calculating the size of boards and joists for a deck, for instance. While some projects, such as waterproofing a pond, are not given in-depth treatment, do-it-yourself types will find a great deal of useful advice and support. Alice Joyce
